Case Study
60 years of cricket. One platform to run it all.
How Para Hills Cricket Club — the largest cricket club in the City of Salisbury — uses TidyHQ to manage 176 members across 14 teams and simplify the admin that keeps volunteer-run clubs alive.
The club
Para Hills Cricket Club is a family-friendly club based in the northern suburbs of Adelaide. Established in 1964, Para Hills calls Para Hills Oval home in the City of Salisbury — and with 4 Senior Men's, 1 Senior Women's, 1 Inclusive League team and 8 junior teams, they're the largest cricket club in the area.
The club's mission is to provide a home for cricket in Para Hills that fosters success, enjoyment and a sense of family. Their 2023/24 season marked the club's 60th year — celebrated with a historic Gala event where members reminisced through each decade of the club's history.
In 2023, Para Hills were awarded the SACA Community Cricket Club of the Year for outstanding contribution to providing opportunities for everyone to participate in cricket — and for exceptional governance through their 2022–26 Strategic Plan.

“TidyHQ has allowed us to keep up to date with current technology, streamlined administration and become a one-stop-shop. It has simplified succession planning and committee handovers.”
The challenge
Running a cricket club with 60+ years of history means institutional knowledge is everything — and losing it is the biggest risk. Every year, committee members rotate. Secretaries step down. Treasurers hand over mid-season. The people who know where the membership spreadsheet lives, who owes what, and how the AGM agenda works walk out the door.
For Para Hills, the challenge wasn't just admin. It was continuity. The club needed a system where incoming committee members could pick up exactly where the last ones left off — without a two-week handover period, without missing records, and without the new secretary starting from scratch.
With 176 members across 14 teams — including juniors, seniors, women's, and an inclusive league side — the volume of admin was real. Membership renewals, meeting minutes, task assignments, event coordination, and the club's own web presence all needed to be managed by volunteers who also work full-time jobs.
How TidyHQ helped
TidyHQ became the club's one-stop-shop — consolidating memberships, meetings, tasks, and the club website into a single platform that doesn't depend on any one person.
When a committee member finishes their term, the next person logs in and everything is there: membership records, meeting minutes with action items, outstanding tasks, and financial history. The handover that used to take weeks of phone calls and forwarded emails now takes minutes.
The club uses TidyHQ's meeting tools to run committee meetings with structured agendas, timed items, and automatic task assignment. Minutes are ready to distribute the moment the meeting ends. Tasks assigned during meetings have owners and due dates — no more relying on memory.
For a club run entirely by volunteers with full-time jobs, every hour of admin saved is an hour back at training, at the oval, or with family. TidyHQ gave Para Hills the structure of a professionally run organisation without needing a paid administrator.
A history worth preserving
Since joining the Adelaide Turf Cricket Association in 1971–72, Para Hills has built a record that speaks for itself — and TidyHQ helps ensure that history is never lost in a committee handover.

From A8 to A1
The club joined the Adelaide Turf Cricket Association in the 1971–72 season in A8 Grade — and won the competition in their first year. Para Hills 120 & 7/151 defeated Woodville 175 & 92 on second innings, captained by Bob Jones.
Since then, the club has been home to Australian Test Cricketers Terry Jenner and Greg Blewett. The most recent senior premiership came in 2020/21 when the A1 side claimed the club's first-ever A1 Premiership in a comprehensive 9-wicket victory over Flinders Park.
The junior program has been equally successful — most notably the four consecutive premierships from 2019 to 2023 with the same core group of players coming through the ranks. In 2023, the club also became the inaugural winners of the Adelaide Inclusive League, captained by Tim Bihet and coached by Jaban Somerville.
